On the way to the airport
It's tempting to keep your beach outfit on, but bear in mind that most airports have climate control. Because of this, the pleasant coolness will quickly feel like a freezer. So it's wise to at least put on long trousers before you check out (changing in a public toilet isn't recommended). You maintain freedom of movement in your travel outfit by choosing supple fabrics such as jersey or garments in which elastane (stretch) has been incorporated. Elastic sweatpants, for example, are real recommendations. Since you have to take off your belt anyway for airport security, it's best to leave it out.

While waiting at the gate
Don't stroll into the terminal in your flip-flops or sandals; that's impractical when you (suddenly) have to cover long distances. Sneakers support your feet and protect you from unhygienic surfaces. Walking socks also shouldn't be missing from your travel outfit. They reduce pressure and prevent your feet and ankles from swelling during the flight. Also be aware that you won't see your suitcases again until you're back in the Netherlands. So make sure you have a few spare garments in your hand luggage. Do you always get a little nervous during the check of your travel documents? Then wear clothing with inside pockets so that you have everything close at hand!

High above the clouds
With your travel outfit for on the plane, comfort plays the leading role. In addition, the air on the plane can get quite cold. This is where layers of clothing come into play. It's better to be able to take something off than to shiver under the airline's thin blankets. We advise you to wear comfortable clothing made of cotton, fleece or merino wool. So put on a roomy T-shirt with a pleasant sweater or men's cardigan over it. During the flight, you don't always have the space or opportunity to take clothing out of your hand luggage. So above all, wear clothing that's allowed to get dirty or creased. That way you arrive at your destination comfortably.
